Our district nurses are responsible for the assessment of nursing needs and delivery of nursing care in the home to all age groups.

The nurses will visit any housebound patient who needs nursing care. They will take referrals from any source, but mainly – GP’s, hospitals and relatives.

The most common reason for visiting patients at home are – Post-operative wound care, leg ulcer care, continence assessments and palliative care.

They are not an emergency service, but will try to respond to all messages by the following working day. Any messages left at weekends or bank holidays will not be actioned until the next working day.
