Social Prescribing (Age UK)

Social prescribing is a free service run by Age UK that offers a range of local, non-medical
activities that can help to improve your health and support you to make the most of life.
Social prescribing works to connect you to local, community sector organisations, activities,
opportunities and support, aiming to take a more holistic approach to your health and
wellbeing.
Activities offered by age UK social prescribing include pub lunches, exercise classes, cinema
clubs, bereavement support and transport, amongst others.
It is known that being active, engaging with people around you, and learning something new
can all improve your mental and physical health, and help you to live as independently as
possible.
